Mumbai 12th richest city globally
o India’s financial capital Mumbai, with a total wealth of $950 billion, has been named among the top 15 wealthiest cities globally, while New York topped the list.
o Mumbai which also features among the top 10 cities in terms of billionaire population is the home to 28 billionaires.
o Going forward, Mumbai is expected to be the fastest growing city in terms of wealth growth over the next 10 years

First Indian to qualify for China LPGA
o Sharmila Nicollet has become the first Indian golfer to qualify for the China Ladies PGA Tour.
o China LPGA Tour is a professional golf tour for women organized by the China Ladies Professional Golfers’ Association.
o Sharmila is also the youngest Indian golfer to qualify for Ladies European Tour & the second Indian to earn a full card on the Ladies European Tour.

National Deworming Day conducted
o National Deworming Day is observed on 10 Feb & 10 Aug each year to tackle the countrywide public health threat of intestinal worm infections in children & related morbidity.
o It is a single fixed-day approach to treating intestinal worm infections in all children aged 1- 19 yrs.
o It aims to create awareness about the most effective & low-cost STH treatment administering albendazole tablets.

PNB signs pact with National e-Gov Services
o PNB has signed an agreement for information utility with National e-Governance Services.
o It will enable storing of financial information that will help substantiate defaults & verify claims expeditiously.
o This will in turn facilitate resolution in National Company Law Tribunal in a time bound manner.
o The objective of the agreement is to augment the information infrastructure in India.

RIL wins Golden Peacock Award for CSR
o Reliance Industries has won the Golden Peacock Award 2017 for success of its Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives.
o One of RIL’s key social projects aims at impacting the livelihood of farmers through water and food security interventions.
o The award aims to give attention to social & environmental concerns & encourage companies to balance financial profits, value addition & social good

India signs concessional agreement with UAE
o India has signed the first concessional agreement with the United Arab Emirates in the oil sector.
o The agreement was signed between a consortium of the Indian oil companies and Abu Dhabi National Oil Company for the acquisition of 10% participating interest in the offshore Lower Zakum Concession.
o This first concessional agreement will be for 40 years from 2018 to 2057.

India, UAE sign five MoUs
o India & UAE signed have 5 agreements following a delegation-level talks headed by PM Modi & Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
o The MoUs signed and exchanged are related to energy sector, railways, manpower and financial services.
o To deepen bilateral cooperation in the field of finance, a MoU between Bombay Stock Exchange & Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange was signed.

IPPB to enable Digital Payments
o India Post Payments Bank will enable Digital Payments in Post Offices by April this year.
o Once expansion is completed, IPPB will provide largest financial inclusion network in the country.
o IPPB will be the 3rd payments bank to have full fledged operations after Airtel Payments Bank & Paytm.
o It will provide digital payment services at the doorstep with the help of Postmen & Gramin Dak Sewaks.
